Flipkart’s Apple fest has some deals, but don’t pin your hopes too high

Online retailer Flipkart’s four day long Apple fest, which started on 10 January, offer deals on Apple iPhones, Macbook Air notebooks, iPad tablets and some Apple accessories such as Bluetooth keyboards, iPhone cases and mouse.

The Apple fest is a mix of discounts, exchange offers and cashback offers ranging from 5 to 15% on use of Axis bank debit or credit cards. However, not all discounts are worth it, as the prices that Flipkart is quoting are already very close to what rivals such as Amazon.in are already offering, the best example being the MacBook Pro 13 (MD101HN/A A1278 ), which Flipkart is offering for Rs53,990 but is retailing for Rs53,290 approx on Amazon.

We take a look at some of the top deals on Apple products and how the new prices compete with those offered by Flipkart’s main rival Amazon.in.

Interestingly, Amazon.in is also offering the iPhone 7 at a discount of 7% too. There is no additional offer in debit cards, though.

Flipkart is offering an exchange offer too under which you can exchange your old smartphone and get a price cut if up to Rs23,000 on the iPhone 7.

The 32GB variant is also selling at Rs55,000 after a discount of 8%. It is original MRP is Rs60,000. If you pay with a Axis Bank Debit card you get an additional discount of 5% and if you have no issues exchanging your old smartphone for this you can get a discount of up to Rs23,000.

However, the amount of discount in exchange you can get will depend on the condition and the age of your old phone. The phones available for exchange include iPhone 6s Plus, LG G4, HTC One 10, OnePlus 3 and Nexus 6p. Surprisingly, Samsung’s Galaxy S series smartphone after S3 and Note series devices after the first Note are not on the list of devices that can be exchanged.

The deal is available on the jet black, matte black and rose gold variants.

iPad Mini 4 originally priced at Rs41,000 on Flipkart is available at a 17% discount, making it cheaper by up to Rs7,000.

The iPad Mini 4 WiFi+ cellular is available on Amazon.in for Rs37,979. The iPad Mini offers a screen size of 7.9-inch with resolution of 2,048x 1,536p on it. It weighs just 304g.
