Ultra Violet: Pantone colour of 2018

Year after year, Pantone Colour Institute, the global colour trends company, announces the colour that we will see across design, fashion, technology, art, food, advertising, travel and beyond. In 2016, it was a pairing of Rose Quartz and Serenity (a pale pink and powder blue); Greenery, a zesty green, in 2017; and this year, it is Pantone 18-3838, better known as Ultra Violet. “Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead," says Pantone on its website.

As the year progresses, we are sure to come across imaginative ways of painting our landscape ultra violet, but for the moment, here are eight ways to surround yourself with the colour and its close cousins.
