Bengaluru’s brunch biennial
Chefs for Charity blends feel good with good food
Bengaluru: Feel-good is a clichéd term when it comes to food, yet the biennial Chefs for Charity organized by Food Lovers, a Bengaluru-based content and experience platform, manages to drum up a haloed enthusiasm for every event with a potent mix of earnestness, transparency and innovation.
For the fourth edition this year, more than 50 chefs from 16 hotels and stand-alone restaurants in the city—including Abhijit Saha’s Fava, the Oberoi’s Le Jardin, the Sheraton Grand Bangalore’s Persian Terrace, North Indian fave Umerkot—have signed up to donate the entire proceeds (excluding taxes) to causes nominated by participating chefs, from Akshaya Patra Foundation and Goonj to SOS Children’s Villages and Sankara Eye Foundation.
Each of the past editions of Food Lovers Chefs for Charity raised an average of Rs5 lakh for designated causes.
Expect a balmy afternoon under the trees at the Lalit Ashok with plenty of good food—the dahi kebab from Blue Terrain, Novotel Techpark, the jhinga nisha from By The Blue, Grand Mercure, and Thai green curry from East, Crowne Plaza, are highly recommended—and good people.
