Apps to make your selfies look more attractive
Smartphone users can make their selfies more attractive and fun by using one of these free apps
The quality of front-facing cameras in smartphones have improved a lot in the last few months. Smartphones with dual front cameras and built-in flash can actually help you click selfie images that look sharper and clearer. Here are some cool apps which can further spice up the selfies.
FaceApp
Free
Android, iOS
FaceApp belongs to the new crop of camera apps which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to make your photos look more fascinating. Unlike apps such as Prisma, which uses AI to apply arty looking filters, FaceApp uses AI to change the facial expressions and features. So you can make a grim face smile, a young person look older and a man look like a woman. Developed by Russian start-up Wireless Lab, the app requires active internet connection and can take longer if you are on a slow network.
BeautyPlus- Easy Photo Editor
Free
Android, iOS
Beauty Plus can make your photos look like faces in animation movie. You can change the skin tone, enlarge eyes and make the face look slimmer and longer. The app can also give your face a lovely and youthful look by blocking out dark circles, acne and give your teeth a pure white look. Developed by Chinese company Meitu, the app also allows users to adjust aspect ratio after the image is clicked and liven up background by adding colour filters.
Face & Emoji
Free
Android
Developed by China-based Fotoable Inc., Face & Emoji app can make your selfies come to life by letting you apply emojis, stickers, funny animal faces on them. The face swap tool changes your entire face by applying funny animal face filters over it, while Emoji can be used to make your photos look a lot more vivacious. You can also apply some of these filters in videos and even change your voice in the recordings.
Microsoft Selfie App
Free
Android, iOS
Most smartphones do not have special modes for front cameras. This is where Microsoft’s selfie app can help. It can identify facial imperfections such as marks, pimples, dark circles and remove them in the final image. Beauty mode isn’t the only highlight in the app. It also offers some nice-looking filters which can be added to make your photos more interesting on social media posts.
Selfie on Tilt
Free
iOS
Front cameras have improved a lot, but it is rare to find a front camera that can beat the primary camera in terms of picture quality. Selfie on Tilt allows users to use their phone’s primary camera from time to time for that special selfie moment. Users won’t be able to see how the picture will look like while taking a Selfie, but the app will lock focus by itself and vibrate the phone when the photo has been taken. Once an image is saved, users can give it a final touch by altering colour contrast and applying filters.
