There has been some fantastic watch releases this year, and there are hundreds of quality timepieces for you to choose from, depending on the kind of watch you're looking for and your budget. We decided to highlight five excellent automatic watches with fun, coloured dials with great wrist presence.
Seiko 5 Sports SRPE
The Seiko 5 line has been the entry-level automatic of choice for decades. This year, Seiko knocked it out of the park with the SRPE line. The 40mm case size is compact and modern. And 100m of water-resistance makes it a perfect go-anywhere-do-anything watch.

Doxa SUB 300
Don’t be fooled by the funky colour. The Doxa SUB 300 is a proper dive watch, water resistant up to 300m. A throwback to Doxa’s classic 1960s designs, the 300’s six colourways come in a 42.5mm case size and comfortable, matching rubber strap.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36
There were plenty of Rolex releases this year but none caught the eye as much as the new Oyster Perpetual line in 36mm and 41mm case sizes. The reason? Super poppy dial colourways, including this coral red one.

Oris x Momotaro Divers Sixty-Five
With just 100m water resistance, this Oris isn’t really a diver. Think of it more as a super-tasteful fashion watch, matching a denim strap from Momotaro with a gorgeous green dial and a bronze bezel.

Longines Heritage Military Marine Nationale
This homage to a watch that Longines made for the French navy in the 1940s strikes the perfect balance with vintage looks and a modern movement.
